Now might be the time you begin to ask yourself - which crystals should I start with? When beginning a collection, it’s helpful to focus on a few key stones that will provide balance and support as you explore their properties and how they resonate with you.

Choosing the right crystals can feel a bit overwhelming, but with a little guidance, you’ll discover which ones call to you most.

Getting Started With Crystals

Each crystal comes with its own unique set of attributes - properties and purposes that make up the energetic identity of each stone.

Every type of crystal is as beautiful and unique as the next, so it is understandable that you might be feeling overwhelmed trying to decide which crystals to select now that you've begun your crystal healing journey.

The most important part of starting your crystal collection is to select stones that speak to you. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to which crystals you should start with. Trust your instincts and go with whichever stones are calling to you.

Here are some suggestions of well known crystals that you could start with:

Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is an excellent beginner crystal because it brings out of us the qualities that tend to be neglected. Self care, compassion, love, forgiveness and self esteem, Rose Quartz embodies the Divine Feminine energy of unconditional love. These qualities are necessary to begin to open up the Heart Chakra and begin the process of healing.

Clear Quartz

Clear Quartz is an excellent cleanser of energy, and it is also one of the most well known crystals. Known as the “Master Healer”, Clear Quartz is an important stone to have in your collection. The amplifying power of Clear Quartz makes it an easy stone to work with, as it will pick up on energy from any surrounding stone.

Smokey Quartz

Smokey Quartz is a crystal that will release negative energy and help keep you grounded. Before you can bring good, positive energies into the fold, you first need to make room by removing anything negative. Smokey Quartz has a softer touch than some more advanced protection crystals such as Obsidian, which can often be a very intense energy for those just beginning to work with crystal energy.

Amethyst

Amethyst is another stone that most crystal enthusiasts have in their collections. Amethyst is great for strengthening your intuition and connection with spirit, which makes it a stone widely used in mysticism. Amethyst also offers strong energy protection and powerful energy cleansing, which will help you maintain your peace of mind.

Citrine

Citrine is a powerful stone for manifestation. Those who are just starting their journey with crystal energy and healing will find that Citrine will help them kick start their journey in a positive and powerful way.
